Fines
- €90 fine for riding without lights after dark
- €90 fine for using a phone while cycling
- €130 fine for running a red light
- €100 fine for riding on the sidewalk
- €70 fine for wearing headphones in both ears
Personal Belongings
Copenhagen is generally very safe. However, as in any major city, do not leave personal items unattended. Always lock your bike and secure valuables properly. If you are unsure about safe parking areas, we are happy to advise.
The Advantage of E-Biking
Denmark is mostly flat, but distances can be longer than they appear. Electric bikes provide steady assistance up to 25 km/h, allowing you to ride comfortably for extended routes without fatigue. This makes coastal rides, forest trails and longer scenic stretches accessible to all fitness levels. You cover more ground — with less effort.

Copenhagen is one of the most bicycle-friendly cities in the world. Over 49% of Copenhagen residents commute by bike daily, and the city has invested heavily in cycling infrastructure for decades. Today, there are more than 390 km of dedicated cycle paths across the capital, including separated bike lanes, cyclist-only traffic lights and intelligent intersections designed specifically for bike flow.
Features such as the Cykelslangen (Bicycle Snake) bridge and the “green wave” traffic system — where riding at approximately 20 km/h allows you to hit consecutive green lights — make cycling both efficient and enjoyable.
Cycling here is not only transport. It is part of daily life.
